Te Takapau Wananga (TTW) commenced in 2023 in the Northern Region, Hokianga. Rawene Hospital has a supportive team and infrastructure that work alongside the Rural Health Unit to ensure we are providing students with an amazing learning opportunity about rural health and health disparities in the region.
Job Description

The Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences is offering a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in the Te Takapau Wananga (TTW) based in Rawene Hospital, Hokianga.
The Academic Coordinator leads the development and teaching of the integrated programme of clinically-based learning for students from all disciplines under the direction of the Rural Health Unit Director. Development of the TTW academic curriculum is a critical aspect of this role ensuring that academic requirements are being met to a high standard.
This position is fixed term (12 months), part-time with flexible working conditions and will take into consideration suitable roles and career pathways. The salary is $100,696 - $132,495, dependent on experience and qualifications, for the successful applicant.
Qualifications

You will be excellent in establishing and maintaining conducive relationships with external practicum placement providers, primary health care providers, and within Health New Zealand.
You will provide academic support and pastoral care to a diverse range of undergraduate health students from varied tertiary institutions. You will be relatable to students and be able to provide academic and clinical feedback for their TTW outcomes. Experience with tutoring and lecturing will be advantageous as well as pedagogical knowledge.
An interest in health education and a strong desire to support rural health and health equity is required.
