The George, Christchurch, a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World, is a boutique hotel offering both the local and international market unparalleled levels of service and facilities.Do you have a passion for exceeding customer expectations?Do you believe in getting it right, on time, first time, every time?Do you have a desire to work for a company that drives innovation and is committed to the development of its team members?Are integrity and respect for others part of who you are?If you can answer yes to all of the above questions, then you would more than likely be a good fit for our team.50 Bistro offers inspired bistro food with modern flavours, excellent wines and a great bar.We are currently seeking a suitably experienced individual to fill the full-time position (guaranteed 40 hours per week) of Restaurant Manager.Duties and responsibilities for this role include:To ensure the Restaurant achieves its major goals of complete customer satisfaction and profit maximisation by effectively managing all systems and procedures.To maintain impeccable standards of guest facilities and services; provide appropriate role-modelling leadership for all departmental team members.To maintain responsibility for achieving departmental wage budget through careful monitoring of rostering and productivity.To provide day to day management of 50 Bistro and to provide Duty Management for the Hotel when required.To assist in the recruitment of staff for 50 Bistro by reviewing incoming applications, ascertaining whether the applicants are qualified to merit an interview and conducting interviews with those applicants.To deliver initial departmental induction and training for all new 50 Bistro staff.To liaise and consult with the Executive Chef, as required, on aspects of the Restaurant's menus.In conjunction with the Executive Chef and Conference Coordinator, liaise and assist in the co-ordination and implementation of any special events held in the Restaurant.It is essential that the successful candidate for this position possess the following attributes:An extensive knowledge of and passion for the Food and Beverage industry with a minimum of 3 years previous experience in a supervisory position and in a similar high-end establishment.A people person, committed to a career in hospitality, with a desire to deliver and exceed expectations in guest service.The ability to provide exceptional leadership and role-modelling to the team, leading from the front and ensuring the focus is on delivering and exceeding expectations in guest service.Extensive knowledge of local and international wines.Possess a good working knowledge of SwiftPOS (or similar property management system).Licence Controller Qualification (LCQ) and General Manager's Certificate.High motivation and energy level.Immaculate in their appearance.Applicants must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand.
