Rate: $29.66 per hour
Hours: Minimum of 30 hours per week, overtime when required, and the ability to work on weekends is required.
Usual working hours are from 6/7am to 6.30pm but change as required by the Orchard owners.
Our company specializes in providing horticultural services and human resource services to the Kiwifruit Orchard industry.
We are looking to employ two supervisors to lead a team of horticultural workers.
Responsibilities:
Managing, leading, and training a team of workers.
Ensuring the quality of work is to a high standard throughout the team.
Allocating work to team members as required.
Making improvements to current procedures with the view of efficiency and improving work performance.
Planning, managing, and organizing workload in conjunction with other Supervisors and/or Management.
Maintaining communication within your team and with management.
Planning for and attending to workload in accordance with weather conditions.
Overseeing and ensuring Health & Safety regulations are adhered to and implemented.
Resolving issues within your team to achieve a positive outcome.
Achieving targets as set out by growers and management.
Managing and ensuring accurate record keeping in relation to work done, timesheets, and reporting on progress.
Ensuring there are adequate team members to complete all tasks.
Having input into hiring, training, and evaluating the performance of individual team members.
Assisting team members in their duties when necessary.
Performing other tasks as set by the Director to meet the needs of the business.
Requirements:
1-year relevant experience and/or a relevant NZ qualification.
Knowledge of the kiwifruit industry and its practices.
Good leadership, management, and planning skills.
Prepared to work in all weather conditions.
Able to work weekends.
Good communication skills.
Attention to detail for record keeping.
Aware of health and safety rules.
Comfortable leading and supporting team members.
