2Ic Support Staff

Details of the offer

Your primary role is to enhance the quality of life for the residents we serve while embodying Hawksbury's values in all aspects of your work.
You'll assist the Manager in the daily operations of the home, stepping into a leadership role when needed. Providing guidance and support to both residents and colleagues, you'll create a nurturing environment by leading through example. Upholding respect, dignity, and advocacy for residents' rights, you'll maintain a positive atmosphere within the home.
Additionally, you'll play a crucial role in supporting adults with Learning Disabilities in managing their daily routines and engaging with their community. This position will be working in a home with a mix of male and female residents. Several of the residents use wheelchairs, so experience with adaptive equipment and safe manual handling would be an advantage but not essential as training will be provided.
Ideally, you'll have an NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 3 or above along with:
A positive attitude to supporting people with learning disabilities.
A full New Zealand driver's licence.
Great communication skills (written and verbal).
What we can offer:
Ongoing development opportunities. If you haven't already completed NZ Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Level 4, we will support you to complete this.
Paid time off the floor to complete your fully funded First Aid certificate in addition to Safe Manual Handling, Falls Prevention, and Dysphagia training.
Free Employee Assistance programme, offering counselling, finance guidance, planning, and career direction.
Access to discounts at 40+ locations.
