Prison-based role Full time, 40 hours per week   Odyssey House Christchurch and Purapura Whetu are proud to be in partnership delivering AOD prison-based programmes.
We are looking for an Alcohol and Other Drug Practitioner to join our friendly team at Christchurch Men's Prison.
We work together providing holistic health and wellbeing programmes within a multidisciplinary team to support tangata whaiora affected by problematic alcohol and other drug (AOD) use challenges.
We are looking for a AOD Practitioner to join our services based in Christchurch prisons and to predominantly work in the remand space at Christchurch Men's Prison.
As an AOD Practitioner, you will join a team of clinical, peer support and cultural staff, providing a multi-disciplinary approach to working with our client group.
In this role, you will be - Delivering education and therapeutic groups within the prison - Developing treatment plans and assessments to deliver a tailored approach to client needs - Supporting a multi-disciplinary team of clinical, peer support and cultural staff - Using a strengths-based approach to delivering elective topics and activities   To be successful in this role, you will - Ideally hold or be prepared to work toward a Registration with an allied health profession such as Social Work, OT, NZAC, DAPAANZ etc - Have good organisational skills - Be a team player - A good understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and knowledge of tikanga Maori /Te Reo Maori - A non judgmental approach to working with tangata whaiora   You will be part of a dedicated team working across prison sites, and a valued member of the wider Odyssey and Purapura Whetu whanau.
