Location: Hamilton City Employment Type: Casual Applications Close: 1 November 2024 Are you Hamilton Zoo's next Zoo Keeper? We are looking for an experienced Zoo Keeper to join our team as a casual. If you think this could be you - let's talk. For this role you must have: An understanding of modern zoological best practices. Knowledge, understanding and commitment to workplace health and safety practices. A tertiary degree in animal behaviour or relevant equivalent. A minimum of 1-2 years' experience in animal husbandry. Preferred candidates would have experience with any of the following: Carnivores, Primates, Ungulates, Birds, and Ectotherms. Stamina to meet a variety of mentally and physically demanding challenges. Exceptional communication and collaboration skills that enable you to work seamlessly with others and support your team members. And of course, a love for zoo animals! What will you be part of? Set in over 90 hectares of lush and tranquil surroundings, the Te Kaaroro Nature Precinct is home to the Hamilton Zoo and Waiwhakareke Natural Heritage Park. These well-loved community assets play an important part in connecting people with nature and conservation activities and providing fun experiences that inform and educate visitors.
