Youth Worker

The Child Youth Crisis Respite service provides respite for people aged between 5 and 19 years who are experiencing mental health and/or addiction issues. We offer a short-term, voluntary residential programme with a maximum 7 day stay. This service provides a short-term safe and secure home environment for the youth that we support. Supportive team environmentFree yearly flu vaccinationThis role is working 16 hours per fortnight working every Saturday - 6.45am to 3.15pm As a Youth Worker you will assist young people to make positive and long-lasting changes in their lives, which will be achieved through various means of support. You will help provide a safe and secure environment which allows them to gather information to ensure they can make informed choices, while assisting and encouraging them to participate in leisure activities and recreational pursuits. This position involves meal preparation and housekeeping duties.
Skills and Experience: Relevant experience working with youth is essentialHolds a current Full NZ Driver Licence and have reliable transportA Health and Wellbeing qualification or similar is preferableCaring and kind in nature with integrity that can provide support to those from all walks of life
