Details of the offer

Youth Support Workers – Christchurch (Otautahi)

Full Time and Part Time Opportunities

Must be available for a weekend shift

About the Role:

We are looking for enthusiastic and dynamic individuals with a compassionate outlook to work in our team who have a desire to make a real difference and contribute to a fun and diverse team.

We are looking for support workers that are keen to make positive changes to the tamariki and rangatahi we support in our community.

We are currently looking for experienced, calm and compassionate support workers within our Youth Service. It would be ideal if the candidate(s) had experience working alongside and building trust and understanding with young people. The young people we support may experience significant obstacles in their lives, which at times is expressed in complex behaviours.

While having experience as a support worker in mental health or behaviour support is advantageous, don't let this put you off applying if you are keen on a career with us, we will support you to learn the role

About you:

We are looking to find people who are:

Compassionate and adaptable

Resilient with great problem-solving skills

Happy to work solo or in a team

Enthusiastic about their local community

About CCT:

Community Care Trust's Vision is a world that truly values and celebrates diversity. We work in partnership with adults and youth across Te Waipounamu (the South Island) who need some support in their lives to achieve their goals.

We work alongside people to ensure they live the life they want and achieve their dreams and aspirations as valued and contributing people within their community.

CCT Youth Services in Christchurch include emergency housing, transitional housing, and Individual Care Response in a 24/7 supported environment, and community supports within the school, home, or community.

Our organisation has a strong commitment to safeguarding children and any employees will be vetted to a level appropriate to the role for which they have applied.

How to Apply:

We can fill you in about what makes us unique at an interview or let us know if you have any questions by contacting our Human Resources team on 0800 800 001 and ask for Sandy or David.

To work for us you must:

Hold a current First Aid Certificate (or be willing to complete one at our cost)

Hold a full current NZ Driver License

Be eligible to work in New Zealand or have a valid work visa with a minimum of 12 months until expiry.

Be able to work at least one weekend shift per week.

Applications close 5pm Wednesday 13th November 2024. Due to the fast-paced nature of our work vacancy close dates may be subject to change.
