Evolve is a Youth One Stop Shop (YOSS) supporting rangatahi in Te Whanganui-a-Tara to thrive, connecting them to timely, accessible, and engaging health, wellbeing, and support services. Established in 2004 for young people by young people, we work within a youth development framework emphasising the importance of young people's connections to their communities, families, schools and peers, and has a focus on fostering resilience and supporting young people to make positive decisions. Youth voice and participation is incorporated in service development and governance ensuring that young people are at the centre. Evolve's dedicated team of doctors, nurse practitioners, nurses, counsellors, social workers, youth workers and admin staff support over 3,000 young people in the Wellington area. Evolve are committed to providing services that are Nurturing, Connected, Inventive and Equitable. All services we provide are FREE of charge to our young people. Evolve is one of the 11 national Youth One Stop Shops providing health care and social support to young people aged 10-24 years. Main purpose of the job: The Youth Programmes Coordinator is tasked with leading the development, implementation and facilitation of our existing and new youth development groups and programmes including undertaking some general administration support. The Youth Programmes Coordinator will be responsible for developing robust, documented plans for the successful and safe running of all Evolve groups and programmes as well as coordinating the effective and efficient running of all groups, programmes and projects. Person Specification: Essential Experience supporting and journeying alongside young people Experience in developing, coordinating and facilitating groups, ideally for and with young people Ability to work well as part of a multi-disciplinary team, recognising strengths and limitations Ability to take constructive feedback to help develop their own professional practice Commitment to working within te Tiriti o Waitangi Excellent written and oral communication skills Understanding of youth development and strengths-based practice Ability to manage own time and workload, be self-directed and meet deadlines Keen to share their strengths to support young people and Evolve to unleash their potential A full New Zealand Drivers Licence (or working towards this) Desirable Communications and promotions experience Interest and/or qualifications within the Health & Fitness field Mentoring and Advocacy experience Belong to or keen to belong to a professional body i.e. Korowai Tupu #J-18808-Ljbffr
