About the Role Are you looking at the prospect to embrace change? Our team at Te Whatu Ora Tairawhiti are currently looking for a Youth-focused Crisis Clinician.
A specific focus of this role includes providing support and intervention to Tamariki and Rangatahi presenting with acute distress.
It is desirable for the successful applicant to be a registered practitioner (nurse or social worker) with a current practicing certificate and a minimum of two years' experience working with tamariki and rangatahi with mental health challenges. Also needed:
Ability to build relationships and collaborate with whanau and community networks to offer a range of interventions as indicated by whanau.Acknowledgment and an understanding of Te Ao Maori is also desirable as Tairawhiti has a strong iwi and cross-sector leadership recognizing Maori as tangata whenua, making Tairawhiti a culturally significant and innovative region.Competency with te ao Maori, tikanga, and te reo Maori or a commitment to starting your journey and taking ownership of your learning and growth (mandatory)Experience in projects/initiatives that give effect to Te Tiriti principles and frameworks, and the application of Matauranga Maori and Kaupapa Maori approaches, particularly as they apply in healthcare settings.
