We are seeking a deeply passionate and highly effective class teacher for 2025. We need someone with proven success and the ability to create a learning environment that meets the aspirations and needs of our local whanau, iwi, and hapu.
We are looking for a teacher who is compassionate and willing to be a champion to all students at our kura. Applicants should have strong interpersonal and organisational skills, experience with structured literacy and numeracy strengths, proven highly effective behaviour management skills, a deep understanding of te ao Maori, a willingness to learn and teach te reo Maori, and demonstrated knowledge of inclusive practice. Applicants should also be willing to be an active part of the team and someone who is excited about creating positive outcomes for all.
The ideal candidate would have strengths in creating a dynamic learning environment that supports te ao Maori world views, cultural practices, and the use of te reo in the classroom, learning with digital technologies, teaching as inquiry, student inquiry, assessment for learning, whanau engagement, and PB4L.
The terms and conditions, including base salary, for this position are set by the New Zealand Primary Teachers' Collective Agreement 3 July 2023 – 2 July 2025. The base salary for trained and registered teachers will depend on the applicant's qualifications and experience. An individual's actual base salary will be established by a salary assessment once a role is confirmed.
