About the Role This role is for a suitably qualified and enthusiastic electrical technician to work in our service team. The successful applicant must hold a recognised trade certificate. The department is a small team environment based on site at Tararua Wind Farm. The technicians report to the site supervisor and are responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of the wind turbines in accordance with the contract.
Responsibilities Undertake scheduled service and reactive maintenance on an as-required basisRespond and attend site outside normal working hours to undertake reactive maintenance on a rostered basisMaintain all company vehicles and plant and equipment in good clean conditionUndertake operations and maintenance within the limits of training and authorisation including operation of HV and LVEnsure that each task is undertaken in a manner that ensures the safety of personnel, protects the environment, and follows work methods at all timesUndertake the site inductionFulfill the requirements of the SMA (Service Maintenance Agreement)Comply with the duty of care assigned under OH&S legislation and demonstrate commitment to accident preventionObserve all work instructions, procedures, safety codes of practice, employer OH&S and Environmental requirements, and statutory rules and regulationsWear the appropriate Personal Protective Equipment as requiredParticipate in safety, toolbox, or other meetings where requiredAll other duties within competence, skill, qualifications, and experience as directedQualifications Electrical trade certificateFull clean driving licenseLiterate with PC & modern technologies to support your day-to-day workAbility to read/interpret technical drawings to support fault-finding and/or maintenance activitiesAny knowledge of PLC and/or SCADA systemsMotivation to learn new skills and thrive in a growing industryUnderstanding of safety principles, willing to adhere to and drive safety compliance company-wideExperience with HV/LV, hydraulics, and mechanical systems in a residential, commercial, and/or industrial environmentProficient in the use of various hand toolsStrong communication skills, ability to work in a small teamAbility to work at heights in confined environmentsWhat We Offer A professional safety cultureThe opportunity to further develop your skills and professional developmentGlobal career progression prospectsAll tools and training for the jobPPE, PC, and LaptopSite vehicles for shared useSite specific allowances and overtime payEmployee Assistance ProgramOptions for travel to explore other sitesAdditional Information You must have the right to live and work in this location to apply for this jobWe do amend or withdraw our jobs and reserve the right to do so at any time, including prior to the advertised closing dateJoin the World's Leading Wind Energy Solutions ProviderExcellent Career Development opportunities both Nationally and GloballyA workplace that embraces Diversity and Inclusion13 weeks Paid Primary Carers Leave3 weeks Paid Secondary Carers LeaveEmployee Assistance ProgramVestas is an equal opportunity employer.
