Located in Otautahi | Christchurch, Aotearoa | New ZealandFull time at 37.5 hours per weekAu Mahi | What You Will DoThe Department of Mechanical Engineering are seeking an experienced and precise Workshop Technician to join the team. As Workshop Technician you will play a vital role in ensuring teaching and research projects in the department are well supported through quality manufacturing of assemblies and parts. You will provide Students and Academic staff with specialist advice and guidance and ensure the workshop areas are presented to an exemplary standard of organisation and tidiness, with machines maintained ready for use.Bringing your extensive experience in a workshop environment, operating a range of manufacturing equipment, you will hold an Advanced Trade Certificate (NZQA Level 5) and a First Aid certificate and have:Demonstrated experience working within a secondary or tertiary education practical workshopWorking knowledge of Health and Safety rules and regulationsThe role of the Department of Mechanical Engineering is to conduct research that will provide benefits to society in a variety of ways, and to produce world-class graduates that are ready and prepared to make a difference in the workforce.Nga Painga o UC | Why UCNga Uara | Our Values of manaakitanga, whanaungatanga and tiakitanga guide our decisions and behaviour and provide a roadmap for how we do things at UC, affirming our commitment to pastoral care and support for our akonga and staff.
