About the role We are currently seeking an experienced skilled hands-on Workshop Manager to join our team and drive excellence in our workshop operations.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in our business, and this position suits a highly organised individual with the ability to work collaboratively and lead the workshop team.
You will need to lead by example, have a safety-first approach, be agile, versatile, accurate, and efficient.
Your responsibilities include engaging with customers, upholding our workshop service standards, and ensuring jobs are managed in the most cost-effective manner and are completed within company financial objectives and budgets.
This is a fast-paced environment with a variety of projects to work on.
Responsibilities: ·         Supervise day to day operations of the workshop, ensuring smooth workflow and timely completion of tasks ·         Allocate resources effectively, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to optimize workshop productivity and meet project deadlines.
·         Foster a supportive and safety-conscious work environment for the team.
·         Implement and maintain quality control standards to ensure high-quality service delivery and adherence to safety regulations.
·         Provide technical expertise and support to resolve complex technical issues and challenges faced by the workshop team.
·         Build strong customer relationships with our key clients.
·         Interact with clients to understand their requirements, provide technical advice, and ensure customer satisfaction through efficient service delivery.
·         Communicate project plans ahead of time, to align to vessel schedules and ensure all customer interactions and decisions are communicated throughout the organisation.
·         Document all activities accurately and manage paperwork processing   About you: You will be an experienced leader with a passion for delivering great engineering solutions as well as investing in people so they are set up for success.
Education & experience: ·         Experience leading teams in an operational workshop environment ·         Trade qualified with practical mechanical engineering skills In-depth knowledge of marine systems, engines, and equipment, with hands-on experience in maintenance and repair.
Be self-motivated and have a high standard of workmanship.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to adapt to changing project requirements.
Excellent communication skills to engage at all levels and build sustainable relationships with our diverse teams; your felt leadership skills will naturally bring others along the journey Highly organised and able to deal with conflicting priorities and work under pressure Champion of health, safety and wellbeing in the workplace Good computer literacy and experience working systems, including Microsoft Office 365 Physical stamina and agility to work in a marine environment.
·         Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
