CDS operates from multiple locations, including Mt Maunganui, Hinuera, and Rotorua, and your role will be based at our Hinuera branch.ABOUT THE JOB:Job Purpose:As Workshop Foreman at Central Diesel Services, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our workshop. In this leadership position, you will oversee and manage the team of technicians, mentor apprentices, and maintain our high standards for delivering exceptional mechanical services. Initially, your responsibilities will include customer interaction, managing WIP, quality control and taking an active role in the workshop.Key Responsibilities:Lead and supervise workshop staff, providing direction and guidanceEffectively assign tasks and projects, ensuring optimal workflowMentor apprentices through the apprentice programManage workshop performance, focusing on KPIs and implementing corrective actionsPossess strong diagnostic and repair skills for heavy diesel vehicles and equipmentOversee engine, clutch, gearbox, and other component re-buildsUphold a high standard of safety and quality outcomesReport on areas of concern and apply appropriate remediesMaintain good verbal and written communication skillsEnsure compliance with relevant qualifications and licensing requirementsOther Duties:Collaborate with other departments to achieve overall business objectivesParticipate in ongoing training and development opportunitiesFoster a positive and collaborative work environmentKey Performance Indicators:Workshop efficiency and productivityCompliance with safety and quality standardsABOUT YOU:Legal and Other Requirements:NZ Driver's License: willingness to obtain a HT license.Compliance with pre-employment testing, police checks, and medical examination.Qualification and Experience:Previous leadership experience managing a teamLeadership experience or 5 years as a senior technicianSkills and Knowledge:Proficient in repairs & maintenance, mechanical diagnostics, and service of heavy diesel vehiclesStrong work ethic with honesty and integrityReliable and enthusiastic with good organisational and time management skillsWillingness to upskill on OEM courses, particularly with a franchise brandsWHAT WE OFFER:Competitive remunerationTraining and development opportunitiesA platform to grow and succeed in the heavy transport service industryIf you are a motivated and qualified Workshop Foreman looking to contribute to a thriving team, apply now!IGP | CDS is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes applications from candidates of all backgrounds.
