LOCATION: Hinuera ABOUT US: Industry Growth Partners (IGP) brings together the expertise of three leading companies: HTSL Diesel Mechanical (HTSL), BLM Engineering (BLM), and Central Diesel Services (CDS). You will be joining Central Diesel Services, a key player in the transport industry, representing brands such as Mercedes-Benz, Freightliner, FUSO Trucks, Detroit, and Cummins Engines. With over 20 years of experience in diesel service, CDS efficiently manages a wide range of jobs to ensure customers are back on the road quickly. CDS operates from multiple locations, including Mt Maunganui, Hinuera, and Rotorua, and your role will be based at our Hinuera branch. ABOUT THE JOB: Job Purpose: As Workshop Foreman at Central Diesel Services, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our workshop. In this leadership position, you will oversee and manage the team of technicians, mentor apprentices, and maintain our high standards for delivering exceptional mechanical services. Initially, your responsibilities will include customer interaction, managing WIP, quality control and taking an active role in the workshop. Key Responsibilities: Lead and supervise workshop staff, providing direction and guidance Effectively assign tasks and projects, ensuring optimal workflow Mentor apprentices through the apprentice program Manage workshop performance, focusing on KPIs and implementing corrective actions Possess strong diagnostic and repair skills for heavy diesel vehicles and equipment Oversee engine, clutch, gearbox, and other component re-builds Uphold a high standard of safety and quality outcomes Report on areas of concern and apply appropriate remedies Maintain good verbal and written communication skills Ensure compliance with relevant qualifications and licensing requirements Other Duties: Collaborate with other departments to achieve overall business objectives Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities Foster a positive and collaborative work environment Key Performance Indicators: Workshop efficiency and productivity Compliance with safety and quality standards ABOUT YOU: Legal and Other Requirements: NZ Driver's License: willingness to obtain a HT license. Compliance with pre-employment testing, police checks, and medical examination. Qualification and Experience: Previous leadership experience managing a team Leadership experience or 5 years as a senior technician Skills and Knowledge: Proficient in repairs & maintenance, mechanical diagnostics, and service of heavy diesel vehicles Strong work ethic with honesty and integrity Reliable and enthusiastic with good organisational and time management skills Willingness to upskill on OEM courses, particularly with a franchise brands WHAT WE OFFER: Competitive remuneration Training and development opportunities A platform to grow and succeed in the heavy transport service industry If you are a motivated and qualified Workshop Foreman looking to contribute to a thriving team, apply now!
