Workshop Fitter/ Machinist

Located 5 minutes south of Rotorua, Red Stag Timber is a positive and progressive business, which owns and operates Waipa Mill. The Company is viewed as industry leaders in timber manufacturing, and the site is continually improving with on-going investment in leading edge technology.The Company seeks to recruit a Workshop Fitter/Machinist. This role will be based in the workshop completing lathe work, milling and fitting and occasional on-site fitting. The successful applicant will assist with the training and development of the Mechanical Apprentices on site as required. This role is day shift Monday to Friday 7.00am-3.30pm, with occasional overtime and additional hours during plant shutdowns.The successful candidate will ideally have/be:A NZ trade qualification equivalent to NZQA level 4 Mechanical Engineering;A minimum 5 years' experience in a Maintenance fitter or Machinist role;Extensive heavy industrial maintenance experience;Skills in general machining and repairing sawmill equipment;A team player;An excellent communication style; andA 'safety first' approach to work.Competitive remuneration is offered to successful candidates with proven skills and knowledge.
