The salary range for this position is $68,535 to $86,423.

About the role As one of two Works Officers in the SSI Region, you will manage a variety of construction projects, ranging from visitor experience improvement work, high priority treaty partner projects, safety related work and asset replacements.
You will work as part of a small team to successfully deliver projects to planned scope, time, and budget. The position will be focused on:
Managing projects: procurement, consultant management, consents, tendering, and construction contracts. Maintaining project documentation, team, and governance reporting. Using the Department's Project Management Framework for all project deliverables, including business case development and reporting. Adhering to best practices in procurement, tender, contract, and supplier management. Skills and experience As a proactive team player, you'll bring a collaborative and solution-focused approach, working well with operations teams, contractors, and Treaty partners. If you have some of the following, we are keen to hear from you:
A qualification and/or relevant experience in construction or project/contract management. The ability to develop and maintain relationships and work as part of a high functioning team. Sound level of knowledge and practice of capital and operational budget management within the context of project delivery. An understanding of, or experience with, applying for statutory consents such as resource or building consents. A sound knowledge of contractor health and safety management. A valid full driving licence. High level of proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, Project, and PowerPoint. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing deadlines and priorities. Desired: Knowledge and understanding of the work of Te Papa Atawhai / The Department of Conservation. An interest/passion for conservation.
