Psychology, Counselling & Social Work (Healthcare & Medical) Full time We are seeking a compassionate and skilled person to join our dynamic Vocational Services Team.
In this role, you will support clients in accessing work or study opportunities and assist them in overcoming barriers to achieve their career goals.
Key Responsibilities: Client Management: Conduct initial comprehensive assessments, identify skills, interests, barriers and goals, prepare vocational pathway and support plans and undertake ongoing progress meetings.
Career Counselling: Provide career and outplacement counselling, undertake labour market analysis, assist with career decision-making, use career assessment tools and advise on career management.
Documentation: Use web-based practice management software, maintain up-to-date client records, prepare case summaries and progress reports, prepare employment and study plans, and complete engagement logs.
Support Services: Support the well-being and cultural needs of clients, arrange access to necessary healthcare and disability support services, and ensure clients are treated with respect and understanding.
Employment Assistance: Identify job opportunities, arrange work trials, provide CV development and employment coaching, assist with job applications and facilitate effective job search strategies.
Networking: Build and maintain relationships with employers, government agencies, community organisations, and training providers to facilitate employment and skill development opportunities.
Professional Development: Adhere to company policies, contribute to team development, and maintain a high standard of professional ethics.
Qualifications/Experience: A minimum of a Level 6 Qualification in Career Development or a tertiary qualification in a related field such as psychology or social work is desirable.
Excellent listening, observation, interviewing and assessment skills.
Ability to counsel, coach and advise clients.
Strong networking and relationship development skills with knowledge of businesses and services in the Taranaki region.
Ability to use adaptive interpersonal and persuasive communication styles.
Competency in using Microsoft Windows and Office products and ability to learn new web-based platforms.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills and ability to plan, organise and self-manage work.
Role Prerequisites: Valid NZ Class 1 driver's licence and reliable transport.
No criminal convictions and ability to pass a drug test.
Positive attitude with a customer-centric, solutions-focused approach.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Commitment to privacy, confidentiality, and professional ethics.
Ability to relate to people of all backgrounds and cultures.
