Parks and Community Facilities is committed to making great places Aucklanders love while supporting several related services such as asset management, project delivery, and operational contract delivery.
As work programme lead, you'll work collaboratively to develop a prioritised rolling three-year capital work programme that delivers value for money and forges a world-class city through collaboratively and transparently serving stakeholders (including local boards, council departments, and Auckland communities).
Your role will include identifying projects that will deliver local boards' strategic outcomes. You're able to logically navigate through complex problems and deliver under pressure, with exceptional skills in relationship management, critical thinking, and financial acumen.
You'll demonstrate excellent stakeholder engagement, working with project managers and have effective facilitation skills. Having worked in complex organisational environments, you'll also be confident in asset planning, financial analysis, and political report writing.
Experience in asset management, physical works projects in buildings and open spaces, and developing work programmes is also advantageous.
We offer you a career-enhancing opportunity, competitive remuneration, and the chance to have direct input into the development of Auckland's public spaces and buildings. You'll be part of a team that is passionate about what we do. Working 40 hours per week Monday to Friday, you will have some flexibility with how those hours are set.
If you are high-performing, passionate about Auckland and the world around you, and would like the chance to facilitate making tangible and visible improvements to our environment, then join us.
Apply today (telling us why you are interested in and right for this opportunity) by cover letter along with your CV.
Please note this is an 18-month opportunity until June 2026.
You will be required to have a valid NZ driver's licence due to the nature of the position where you will be required to regularly travel to various Community Facility sites across the Auckland region.
Auckland Council is an equal opportunity employer (EOE) and we are committed to providing a working environment that embraces and values diversity and inclusion. If you have any support or access requirements, we encourage you to advise us at the time of application to assist you through the recruitment process.
