ARE YOU PASSIONATE ABOUT WOMEN AND GIRLS PLAYING SPORT? DO YOU LOVE CRICKET? DO YOU WANT TO HELP GROW THE GAME OF CRICKET? If so then Canterbury Cricket has the role for you! In conjunction with the Christchurch Metro Cricket Assoc we are looking for a dedicated Women and Girls Lead to help us push on with our new "Strategy For Cricket In Canterbury". This new role will work with all our stakeholders across the Club, District and Regional network delivering the recommendations from our recent independent Women and Girls Review. This exciting opportunity will help to lay the foundations for the future, developing, testing and refining key programmes. Be the strategic lead helping to grow participation at Festivals, improve transition from youth to Club cricket and grow the capability across the network. Reporting to the General Manager - Community and working closely with Christchurch Metro Cricket, New Zealand Cricket and the Club network this is a huge opportunity to help mould the future of the female game in Canterbury. Key Responsibilities include: Relationship Management: Connect, listen and lead on insights, understanding and information provided to you by key stakeholders of the women and girls game. Report, update and inform CMCA and CHCH clubs on all women and girls initiatives and plans. Connect with key secondary schools, youth coaches, and the Willows Cricket club on all youth initiatives. Festival Cricket: Engage secondary schools and support their cricket programs to participate and compete in Gillette Venus. Lead this festival with support from CMCA. Tournament Cricket: Work with identified players and their coaching teams to create, engage and compete in regional and South Island Cricket tournaments. Work with CHCH senior women's clubs to support coaches and club administration to create the best cricket experience designed for female cricketers. Lead and engage with CMCA around format, competition and support plans for youth and senior club competitions. Lead and develop opportunities to increase the transition of youth from programs and secondary school cricket into club cricket. Lead and deliver on NZC women and Girls fund application initiatives. Advisory Group: Participate in and report to the Canterbury Cricket Women and Girls Advisory group. Test ideas, critique research and challenge traditional thinking, to ensure the experience our female athletes receive is fit for purpose and catered to their needs. People Development: Work with identified female coaches, and coaches of female teams. Create coach development and professional development plans. Create and deliver bespoke coaching and education courses for coaches of female athletes. Lead and support the CMCA Coach developer to deliver female coaching education programs. Support CCA SLT and CMCA leadership to implement key recommendations from the Women and Girls strategy. Work with local staff to adjust work plans, priorities and responsibilities to better reflect the importance and strategic direction Cricket in Canterbury has set. Use insights and research to create and adjust the current system and process to better support and deliver product for female participants. Build strong relationships with all stakeholders, but ensuring players and volunteers are at the center of decision making. Talent ID: Build, maintain and identify relationships with local clubs, schools and districts to identify emerging talent. Work with female pathway coaches to ensure potential talent are attending appropriate tournaments, competitions and training opportunities at school, club and district level. Build and connect with a scouting network that supports the identification of emerging talent.
