Winter - Snow School Instructor Level 3+The Whakapapa whanau are a small but ambitious team, running year-round operations on the northern slopes of Mt Ruapehu. In winter, from June until October, this includes a world-class ski area. In summer, from December until April, this includes our summer sightseeing operation, heroing our iconic Sky Waka gondola. Each year we welcome hundreds of thousands of manuhiri (guests) to Whakapapa, many with life-long connections to the maunga (mountain) and surrounding region, some even third or fourth generation.Mo te tunga | About the roleWe are seeking a range of NZ Level 3 (or overseas equivalent) ski and snowboard instructors to join our Snow School team at Whakapapa.Our Snow School Instructors bring their passion for the snow sports industry and their riding skills to our manuhiri (guests) through providing group and private lessons. Support us to build passion and talent in the snow sports industry, all whilst enjoying a winter on the slopes of Mt Ruapehu in the iconic Tongariro National Park.As a member of the team at Whakapapa, you will create an empowering learning experience that keeps our manuhiri (guests) coming back and enjoying this winter playground year in and year out.No two days at Whakapapa are the same, so you will need to adapt on a daily basis using sound teaching techniques. You can expect that you will:Make sure our guests have loads of fun!Apply teaching methods which consider the personal capabilities (age, ability to learn) of your guests and incorporate the actual situation on the ski area (weather, snow conditions and terrain).Consistently meet the minimum teaching standards required by the qualification held.Be a source of knowledge on our products and services, and provide efficient, polite and professional service to all guests.Support the Snow School leadership team in mentoring, training and developing junior Instructors.Have fun while doing it!We are seeking interest for casual, part-time and full-time employees for this seasonal opportunity (June to October).
