Whanau Navigator / Employment Broker X 2

Details of the offer

Te Taiwhenua o Te Whanganui A Orotu is an incorporated society based in the magnificent Hawke's Bay. From the earliest of times, Te Whanganui a Orotu was highly prized for its enormous food resources and its access to major river systems and forest areas. Mahinga Kai identified ancestral rights to areas with Ngati Tu, Ngati Matepu and Ngai Te Ruruku ki Tangoio at the Northern end of Te Whanganui a Orotu. Ngati Hinepare, Ngati Maahu and Ngai Tawhao occupied the western portion of Te Whanganui a Orotu's shoreline and Ngati Parau had ancestral rights to the southern portion of Te Whanganui a Orotu. The Taiwhenua is a successful and innovative entity whose vision is to grow, sustain and build prosperous, healthy, vibrant and culturally strong marae and hapu. We are now growing our team and are looking for two Whanau Navigator / Employment Broker's to join us. Reporting to the Contract Manager, the Whanau Navigator/Employment Broker will be responsible for coordinating or delivering tailored services to assist participants in preparing for and securing employment or transitioning into training or higher education opportunities. The role will focus on guiding participants through career readiness, skill development, job search strategies, and will provide support in navigating education and vocational pathways. To be successful in this role you will need to have: Experience working in a social service or career development environment with demonstrated ability to tailor services that meet participants' needs. Demonstrated ability to work with multiple groups, establishing and maintaining positive working relationships at all levels with a strong Te Ao Maori orientation. Advisory and coaching skills with the ability and knowledge of career coaching, goal setting and preparing participants for the workforce. Strong interpersonal skills to build trust and connections with whanau, hapu, iwi and community organisations. Knowledge of local labour market trends and educational resources. Strong organisational skills to manage and track participants' progress and achievements as well as providing reports. Ability to prepare, coordinate and facilitate workshops that support whanau and community engagement. A relevant tertiary qualification is essential. Based in the Hawkes Bay, these two 12-month fixed term roles are an exciting opportunity to make a tangible, positive impact on individuals and communities. They will suit someone passionate about building connections and who finds fulfilment in helping others achieve success by supporting them on their journey to employment and stability.
