Would you like to work for NZ's iconic and world-renowned Waitomo Glowworm Caves and help create UNFORGETTABLE holiday experiences for our customers? We are one of NZ's original tourist destinations!
Role Overview:
The busy Discover Waitomo team are looking for fixed-term, part-time Ambassadors who are enthusiastic about outdoor adventure and tourism to join their crew.
As an Ambassador Representative, you will be the face of Waitomo Glowworm Caves, ensuring our visitors have an unforgettable experience. You will share your knowledge and enthusiasm for the area, helping guests discover its hidden gems and ensuring their needs are met with outstanding customer service and hospitality (manaakitanga).
Key Responsibilities:

Elevate the overall visitor experience and drive increased visitor spending.
Keep up-to-date with all Waitomo attractions, products, and services.
Provide valuable local insights and information to encourage visitors to explore and purchase our offerings.
Offer outstanding customer service with courtesy, friendliness, and helpfulness.
Ensure effective communication between customer services and guiding teams.
Help visitors with general queries about the local area and the wider North Island.
Familiarise yourself with all Waitomo attractions and partnership products within one month of starting.
Remain informed about special offers, promotions, and retail rates.
Guarantee visitor safety and manage traffic during peak times.
Keep a clean and professional appearance and work area.
Actively engage in health and safety initiatives.

What We're Looking For:

At least 1 year of experience in a customer service environment, preferably in tourism.
Strong customer service skills with a passion for the Waitomo area.
Ability to deliver unique and authentic experiences that generate word-of-mouth recommendations.
Confident speaker with a positive and outgoing personality.
Effective conflict management and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work unsupervised.
Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Excellent communication skills (face-to-face and phone).
Ability to cope with difficult situations while remaining respectful and professional.
Ability to stand for long periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
Availability to work on a 7-day rotating roster.
