Your role The Property, Construction & Major Projects team in Wellington is looking for a graduate to join the team to start as soon as possible this year. The role is part of a highly successful national team and is supervised by leading Partner, Greg Wise. The team works with key government departments on development, leasing and construction programmes, as well as a diverse portfolio of corporate clients including utilities and telco brands.
This is an interesting and challenging role and will suit an enthusiastic self-starter, who enjoys cultivating strong working relationships. As a successful candidate, you will be getting involved in a range of matters and working with a broad range of large and high-profile private sector clients.
As a junior in the property team, you'll get to work on:
Drafting and reviewing construction contracts, identifying potential risks facing our clients, assisting with due diligence, doing research and problem-solving for disputes throughout the contract phase. Drafting leases and construction contracts Identifying potential risks facing our clients Research and problem-solving for disputes Sale and purchase agreements Documents relating to subdivisions Reports to the Overseas Investment Office Development agreements Legal opinions Records of title and associated interests registered on titles As part of the Property, Construction & Major Project team, you will interact with clients and other practices in the firm straight away such as our corporate, finance and resource management teams. As a junior you'll also work closely with your partner, and interact with some clients directly –  for example, on leasing & conveyancing matters.

Salary & benefits Roles as a Law Clerk may earn an average of NZ$49,000 to NZ$51,000. (Source: Glassdoor)
