Korero mo te turanga - About the role Intensive Care Fellow / CICM Transition Year Fellow / Senior Registrar 12 month position, starting 28 July 2025 (January start not available in 2025) Wellington Hospital / Wakefield Hospital Salaries are calculated based on relevant previous years of experience and the average weekly hours of work as set out in the relevant run description.

This position includes responsibilities such as:

Participating in the after-hours roster working on call in a supervisory capacity (supported and supervised by our ICU specialists). Contributing to a busy Flight Retrieval Service with the capability to provide Intensive Care-level retrievals around the clock. Engaging in critical care research that will change practice around the world. Involvement in a strong teaching program with multidisciplinary input led by senior clinicians. Wellington ICU provides tertiary Intensive Care services for over one million people in central New Zealand covering a geographic radius of 300 kilometres.

We support six other public hospitals that have Intensive Care Units and one hospital that does not.

Mou - About you Suitable for doctors who are final year trainees in the CICM training program, or are at fellowship level for other related specialty programs, or are looking for post-training Fellowship opportunities.

You must have eligibility for general or provisional general registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand.

You will need to be a NZ or Australian citizen or resident, or have an appropriate visa to be eligible to live and work in NZ.
