Purpose: To contribute to the overall management of Child Development by providing expert nursing care, as necessary. To provide expert nursing care ensuring excellent health and improved child growth and development.
The purpose of the position is to offer a screening, surveillance, education and support service to all New Zealand children/ Pacific and their family from birth to five years old.
The position provides a child-centered comprehensive service that focuses on improving child health, social and educational outcomes.
Key Accountabilities: Patient Assessment - Provide accurate assessment and documentation in a timely manner. Understand effects of diseases, medicines, and patients. Handles emergency situations quickly.
Patient/Family Education - Assist clients and families to achieve satisfying and realistic patterns of living through health.
Case Management - Responsible for making sure high-risk cases are discussed with either Team Leader, manager or clinician for appropriate action and follow up as required.
Qualification & competencies: RGON, RCPN, BHSc (Nsg), BN/BNP with current NZ Annual practising certificate Post Grad Certificate in PHC (Well Child Nursing) Post Grad.
