Te Wero - The Challenge As a Waters Design Engineer, you will deliver comprehensive engineering and design services for the Long-Term Plan waters projects. This includes ensuring that all designs adhere to the applicable and relevant standards, guidelines, plans, and legislative acts. Scope of the role: Engineering Design: Develop detailed engineering designs that meet the specific requirements of the Long-Term Plan waters projects. Compliance Assurance: Ensure that all designs comply with the latest standards, guidelines, and regulatory requirements. Project Coordination: Collaborate with stakeholders to integrate design solutions seamlessly into the overall project plan. Quality Control: Implement rigorous quality control measures to maintain high standards of design and engineering. Documentation: Prepare comprehensive documentation to support design decisions and compliance efforts. Innovation: Incorporate innovative design solutions to enhance project outcomes and sustainability. We're seeking a candidate with: 5+ years of NZ experience in water and civil engineering. Proficiency in design software like Autodesk AutoCAD, Arc GIS Pro, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, Innovyze Infoworks ICM, EPA SWMM, Innovyze Infoworks WS Pro, and DHI Mike+. Strong skills in documentation, report writing, and workflow processes. A Washington or Sydney Accord degree in water or civil engineering. Knowledge of NZ engineering standards, design codes, and practices. Understanding or willingness to learn Te Ao Maori, tikanga, Te Reo Maori, and Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations. Excellent oral and written communication skills for interacting with colleagues, clients, and contractors. Ability to work proactively with diverse stakeholders, including the public and internal staff. Clear communication skills to simplify complex problems. Proven project management skills, handling multiple projects within set timeframes. High-level relationship management and customer facilitation skills, including strategic stakeholder engagement.
