Full Time Application Closes 20 Aug 2024 Manawatu - Horowhenua Water and Liquid Waste Treatment Plant and System Operator Ta tatou atarua - Our vision Enabling what matters He angitutanga - The opportunity The Community Infrastructure Group seeks an experienced engineer to join our Local Waters Team as the Water Supply and Demand Lead. Reporting to the Local Waters Business and Operations Manager, you'll support the Water Treatment Supervisor in the leadership of the Water Treatment Operators, management of the Water Treatment Plant and oversee the water supply, and manage demand issues. You will collaborate across teams, on plant projects, upgrades, and renewals. Other responsibilities include ensuring compliance across water supply networks, treatment plants, and conservation projects through data analysis and on-site investigations. You will also manage compliance data for reporting, adhering to standards set by Horizons Regional Council, Taumata Arowai, and Horowhenua District Council (HDC). He korero mou - About you As the ideal candidate for this role you should possess a relevant engineering qualification or extensive experience in the Water Industry. You should have hands-on experience with Local Authority Three Waters networks, data analysis, and report writing. Familiarity with legislation like the Local Government Act, Water Services Act 2021, and wastewater and trade waste bylaws is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office/365, and previous exposure to Infrastructure Data and SCADA systems would be advantageous. A strong emphasis on high performance, exceptional relationship-building skills, and the ability to excel in public liaison and customer service are key attributes. You should demonstrate technical proficiency, problem-solving ability, attention to detail, reliability, and a proactive attitude, all while remaining calm under pressure. Collaboration with team members, a thirst for learning, quick adaptation to new information and technologies, and a knack for applying technical concepts to practical solutions are essential traits.
