We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Water Services Operator to contribute to the Lorneville Plant Team in Invercargill.
Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading and managing a team of employees and other resources to ensure the success of the department, while ensuring a safe working environment is maintained and following the NZ Animal Welfare legislation and requirements.
The duties of the role will include:
Responsible for the day-to-day operation of a treatment plant.
Liaise with plant production, maintenance, personnel, MPI, contractors and consultants.
Accurate record keeping - collect, analyze, and interpret water samples, river, ponds, bores, irrigation.
Operate the equipment, control the processes and monitor the treatment plant.
Collect, analyze and interpret water/wastewater samples.
Protect public health and the environment.
Comply with the New Zealand Drinking Water Standards/ Resource Consents.

We want you to be successful in this role, and to do this, you will need to have experience as a Water Services Operator, as well as:
Verified training against applicable procedures
Basic computer skills
A high sense of responsibility
The ability to work autonomously
Knowledge and understanding of safety protocols
Knowledge of control programs (Preferred)
Approved Handlers Chemical Ticket (Preferred)
Water Treatment Plant Operators Ticket (Preferred)
