Are you passionate about ensuring the quality and safety of water services? Join our team as a Water and Wastewater Technician! In this role, you'll be responsible for the daily operations of our water and wastewater treatment plants and facilities. Part of this role is required to be on a callout roster to deliver a 24/7 service.
The work you are responsible for will ensure that we provide high-quality water and wastewater services that meet public health standards and comply with all legislative and consent requirements. You'll also support the Water & Wastewater Treatment Operations Manager in enhancing and improving water services across the district. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a significant impact on our community.
He korero mou | About you:
Have or be working towards National Certificate in Water Treatment (Level 4) or other relevant qualification.
Experience or knowledge in the operations of water and wastewater treatment plants, and associated facilities.
Have the ability to work as part of a team & be on a callout roster to deliver a 24/7 service.
Mechanical or electrical trade aptitude is desirable.
Knowledge of relevant water standards, public health and local government legislation.
Computer literate, including advanced knowledge of programming and operation of SCADA, or similar systems.
Hold full driver's licence, with appropriate endorsements, e.g. dangerous goods, heavy vehicles.
Have the ability to work effectively as part of a team to deliver a 24/7 service and meet deadlines and legislative requirements.
Be flexible to adjust work and manage conflicting priorities to ensure delivery of services.
Be skilled in interpreting and analysing technical data and have the ability to make decisions or recommendations based on this data.
Be able to build and maintain effective relationships, to provide quality service to colleagues and the community.
