Reporting to the Programme Lead, Wastewater, the Wastewater Networks Engineer is responsible for managing investigations of Watercare's public and private Wastewater Network to address specific customer drainage and environmental issues and recommended resolutions to these issues.
The key responsibilities will include:
Inform relevant department of the faults within the networks to allow them to remediate.Initiate and lead continuous improvement and optimisation of performance.Maintain the integrity of operational information and ensure all findings are recorded and captured within the GIS systems.Liaison with Watercare's Wastewater Networks teams, Environmental Care, Digital, Strategy and Planning and Programme Delivery departments.Undertakes technical tasks and provides technical assistance, including scoping, water sampling scoping and sampling and implementation of field drainage investigation and monitoring.Work with Auckland Council's Healthy Waters department to resolve issues.Detailed analysis of field investigations, SCADA and faults data to target improvements in the wastewater networks that reduces and removes stormwater from the wastewater network and contamination from the stormwater network.To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:
A relevant tertiary level qualification in Engineering, Science or GIS.5 years' experience in a similar Engineering role.Proven ability in management of budgets.Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, systems, standards and requirements.Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.We offer a competitive salary and staff benefits package including:
