We have been in New Zealand since 2003 and have continued to grow over this time.Position Overview:As a Warehouse and Yard Manager, no two days are the same, and you will be continually busy with various tasks.
You must ensure that all the correct gear is going out and check it once it is brought back from the site.
It is critical that you check all equipment and gear for damages or parts missing.
As the Warehouse & Yard Manager, you must make sure that the warehouse and yard is kept secure, tidy, and that the trucks are parked appropriately at the end of each day.Duties and Responsibilities:Ensure the warehouse, yard, lunchroom, locker room, and storage areas are kept organized, clean, and well maintained.Ensure the yard, racking, and storage areas are kept free of debris and that goods are kept in their respective areas.Build and maintain racking so that it is safe, stable, and appropriate for the goods being stored.Unload and load all trucks ensuring that a stillage is used.Use Good Manual Handling Practices when loading and unloading equipment.If required, deliver and collect scaffolding gear.Maintain accurate and regular stock checks.Use an iPad to record any gear that is collected from or returned to the yard.Check, clean, and maintain outgoing and returned gear.
If gear requires repair it must be separated, logged, and taken for repair in a timely manner.Gear that is damaged and not able to be repaired must be removed from site so that it does not get reallocated to other jobs.The disposal of damaged gear will be either by recycling with any revenue being passed to the office or through tip disposal.
The disposal of any stock must be recorded.Ensure all equipment and gear is painted and stickered with the Upright Access Logo.Learn Layplan to help prepare jobs and gear lists.Liaise with the General Manager on an ongoing basis in relation to the general day-to-day operations of the business and provide recommendations on ways to improve.Report and record any accidents, incidents, and near misses in a timely manner.Perform monthly warehouse and yard hazard checks and accurately report any property damage and health and safety concerns.Ensure you are always wearing all required PPE and actively contribute to hazard identification and risk management practices.Attend and complete all training courses as assigned.All other duties as assigned.Qualifications and Requirements:Successfully complete and pass mandatory drug testing.Successfully complete and pass mandatory police background check.Class 2: Heavy Truck drivers' licence is an asset.Must have a full driver's license, and be in excellent standing.Minimum of 2 years' experience as a Warehouse Manager.Minimum of 3 years' experience in the scaffolding industry.Have a Forklift licence.Site Safe and first aid training is an asset.Must have a minimum of a New Zealand National Certificate of Educational Achievement (NCEA) Level 3.Must be a self-starter and be able to complete any required tasks.Excellent communicator with a sense of urgency and excellent time management skills to achieve set targets.Resilience with the ability to adapt well to a high-pressured changeable environment.Upright Access Systems is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
