About the roleWe are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Warehouse Supervisor to oversee daily warehouse operations. The Warehouse Supervisor will be responsible for managing inventory, ensuring timely and accurate shipments, maintaining safety and compliance with food safety regulations, and leading a team to achieve operational excellence.
Report to: Plant Operations Manager Key responsibilitiesWarehouse Operations: Oversee daily warehouse activities including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping of food ingredients.Ensure all warehouse processes comply with food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, GMP, Hazardous substances & Dangerous Goods control) and company policies.Coordinate the maintenance of equipment and ensure cleanliness and organization of the warehouse.GMP Management and Waste management.Reporting – Pest Control, Put-away and Pick reporting.Review warehouse schedule (balancing of incoming and outgoing).Review & follow up implementation of SOPs in the warehouse.Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels, ensuring accuracy and alignment with production schedules and customer demand.Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory checks to minimize stock discrepancies.Use warehouse management systems (WMS) to track product locations, optimize storage space, and maintain up-to-date records.Lead and mentor a team of warehouse staff, including training on safety, operational procedures, and best practices.Develop shift schedules, assign tasks, and monitor performance to ensure efficient and accurate operations.Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that aligns with company values.Safety and Compliance: Ensure all safety protocols are strictly followed, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and proper handling of food ingredients.Maintain compliance with relevant food safety regulations, health and safety standards, and environmental policies.Conduct regular safety audits and address potential hazards immediately.Shipping and Logistics: Coordinate inbound and outbound shipments, ensuring timely delivery to customers and proper documentation of all transactions.Work closely with logistics providers to streamline transportation processes, minimize delays, and reduce costs.Implement best practices in loading and unloading procedures to avoid damage to products and ensure the integrity of food ingredients.Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels.Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Procurement, Customer Care, Production) to ensure alignment of warehouse operations with broader business goals.Stay informed of industry trends and innovations in warehouse management and logistics.Qualifications and skillsMinimum of 3-5 years of warehouse supervisory experience, preferably in the food ingredients or food manufacturing industry.Strong understanding of food safety standards (HACCP, BRC, SQF, or similar).Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and other relevant software (e.g., ERP).Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.Ability to lift and handle heavy materials (as required) and work in varying warehouse conditions (temperature-controlled environments).Leadership and team management.Attention to detail and quality control.Time management and ability to meet deadlines.Safety and compliance orientation.Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
