We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Manager to lead, oversee, and manage all operational aspects of the Warehouse at our Gisborne branch.
This hands on role involves pick/pack operations, order management, driver supervision, and ensuring smooth warehouse operations while maintaining quality control.
The role:
Permanent full time
Mid-November start
Monday to Friday, 07.00 am to 03.00 pm/03.30 pm
Location: Parkinson Street, Awapuni, Gisborne
The job:
Manage daily operations, including quality assurance, inventory control, and logistics.
Oversee receiving, warehousing and distribution
Ensure accurate inventory tracking and stock control.
Implement FIFO stock rotation and assist with stocktakes.
Ensure cleanliness and compliance with food safety standards.
Drive operational efficiencies to reduce costs and enhance growth.
Assist with pick/pack and dispatch as needed.
Develop and coach a high-performing team to meet objectives.
Set and review performance KPIs for direct reports.
Promote health and safety practices, including PPE and forklift training.
Ensure timely dispatch and efficient driver operations.
Train drivers for multiple run coverage.
Maintain accurate shipping records, reports and administration tasks.
Address accidents or damages in collaboration with the Site Manager.
Complete additional tasks as directed by the Site manager.
The person:
You will ideally have a degree in warehousing, logistics, or a related business field. You would be physically strong and fit, can hit the ground running and love working in a fast-paced environment.The successful applicant will have the following attributes:
3-4 years of experience in warehousing or logistics
Proven leadership experience and strong man-management skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills with all levels of employees.
Strong technical abilities and computer skills.
Relationship-focused with an action-oriented approach.
Ability to remain calm under pressure with a positive, can-do attitude.
Experience in Food services or whole sale distribution beneficial
