About The Role
This pivotal role is responsible for ensuring the efficient and cost-effective running of the site, while maintaining high standards of Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) practices. You will coordinate various functions including receiving, dispatch, inventory control, and credit, all while maintaining a focus on service excellence and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Oversight : Manage warehouse operations, including receiving, dispatch, inventory control, and credit functions, ensuring all processes are aligned with service level agreements and exhibit service excellence.
Performance Management : Monitor and report on Warehouse Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), working to support continuous improvements and the efficient management of warehouse costs in relation to budget and P&L.
Staff Management : Lead warehouse personnel, addressing training, development, and disciplinary matters. Foster a positive work environment focused on high performance, safety, and engagement.
Operational & Service Excellence : Accountable for ensuring the efficient and economical use of warehouse facilities for product storage and distribution. Oversee daily operations, staff welfare, adherence to budget, and ensure the delivery of operational and service excellence.
Process Improvement : Promote best practices in process control, inventory management, and customer/supplier relationship management. Ensure adherence to HSE guidelines and continuously identify and implement process improvements to exceed customer service level agreements.
Resource Coordination : Manage labor resources effectively, optimizing team performance to achieve KPIs. Continuously review operational processes and recommend changes for efficiency gains.
Key Requirements:
Proven experience in warehouse management, logistics, or a related field.
Strong understanding of warehouse operations, including receiving, dispatch, inventory control, and credit functions.
Experience managing KPIs and P&L responsibilities.
Leadership skills with a focus on training, development, and performance management of staff.
Ability to identify and implement continuous improvements in warehouse operations.
In-depth knowledge of HSE standards and safety protocols.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
