About the role : CFR Line NZ Limited is looking for an outstanding, hands-on leader to ensure their warehouse is operating 'best practice', with health and safety at the forefront of everything they do. You will lead from the front, being visible and hands-on with the team whilst focusing on continuous improvement, efficiencies, and best practice operations. The successful applicant will be overseeing operations at 2 facilities. We have a warehouse in Point England and a warehouse in Onehunga that sets the standard for operational excellence. You will manage a team of 9 staff, supporting warehouse team leaders in the day-to-day operations of their respective departments. Key responsibilities: Receiving and dispatching goods including loading and unloading shipping containers. Reconciling incoming and outgoing stock with requisitions and updating inventory and stock location records. Examining incoming and outgoing stock to ensure proper fulfilment. Liaising with staff, Senior Managers, and Suppliers. Establishing and managing ongoing processes for receiving, handling, and storing goods. Ensuring Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) policies are followed and creating a safety-conscious workplace culture. Performing new team member training and inductions. Supervising the warehouse environment. Operating forklifts and other machinery to pick and store stock when necessary. Planning and coordinating stocktake. Printing labels detailing storage and despatch information. Overseeing daily operations while controlling and managing inventory and logistics. Reviewing and preparing workflows, staffing requirements, space allocations, equipment layouts, and action plans that meet company standards for productivity, quality, and customer service. Ensuring effective and safe use of warehouse equipment. Motivating and disciplining staff. Maintaining documentation and keeping accurate records of warehouse activities. Maintaining awareness and knowledge of the condition and location of fleet vehicles. Assisting with deliveries where required. Preparing Timesheets for all warehouse staff on a weekly basis. Allocating grids for the trucking companies for container placements. Strong communicator and can remain calm and measured under pressure. Ability to manage constructive relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders at all levels. This is a full-time, permanent position that requires 40 hours per week. Minimum 3-year experience in a similar role or a managerial role is required. Pay rate will be $47.50 to $50 per hour for the right candidate.
