About the role Our clerical team provides a key role in the effective function of our ward.
The work involves the transaction of admissions, discharges, transfers, facilitating outpatient appointments, and the management of patient records.
Working in the reception area, you will be the first point of contact for patients, whanau, visitors, and various hospital and health provider staff.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally be from a clerical background, be an excellent communicator, and have fantastic organisational skills.
As front of house, you will need a friendly and welcoming disposition and a willingness to help those around you.
As part of the Administration and Clerical Pay Equity Claim settlement, this role has been mapped to National Band 3/Profile 3.
Key Responsibilities: General clerical and administrative tasksEntering information into the patient management systemBooking patients for clinic appointmentsAnswering phones and greeting patients and their familiesAbout the Team/Service/Location Ward 10 is one of our surgical wards which specializes in cardiothoracic surgery and has recently been combined with the specialty of Cardiology.
Ward Clerks on Ward 10 care for patients who have undergone cardiac and thoracic surgery as well as a range of Cardiology procedures.
