This is a full-time Qualified Teacher position Monday – Friday (40 hours per week) in an established and well-resourced Kindergarten in Waiuku.Our kindergarten is in a rural setting, providing care and education for 40 children between the ages of 2 and 6. We operate from 8.00am - 5.00pm and are open during the school holidays.Our outdoor area is large and natural, and gardening with the children is an ongoing part of our everyday. We are proud to be a Silver Enviroschool, where sustainable practices and instilling a love of nature are core parts of our curriculum. Maintaining warm, reciprocal relationships with whanau and tamariki are important to us. Our aim is to support children in building social and emotional competence, developing into capable and confident learners.We are seeking a teacher who has experience working in a mixed-age setting and for whom inclusive practice is a strength.Sound knowledge of He Mapuna te tamaiti and Te whariki are important, as is a willingness to keep learning, a 'can-do' attitude, and a sense of humour. The ideal candidate will have good communication and relationship-building skills, along with effective planning and assessment practices.A commitment to bicultural practices and our Enviroschool kaupapa are expected.
