By developing and implementing best practices in teaching methodologies, providing professional development for trainers, and ensuring a learner-centred approach, the team will foster an engaging and supportive learning environment.This commitment to continuous improvement in teaching and learning practices ensures that Transpower employees and service provider staff are well-equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in their roles and contribute to the safety and reliability of the National Grid.About the opportunityIn this role for an experienced trainer who has worked at supervisory level, you will enjoy varied and intellectually challenging work as you:Support the delivery of lines, substation, and power technician training and facilitation performed by contractors and subject matter experts.Collaborate closely with industry and stakeholders to create tailored curricula and assessments, including for our Grid & Systems Operations areas.Ensure high participant completion rates.Supplement national coordination centre and national grid operations centre trainer/facilitators.Deliver training critical to building capability of people working with key systems, processes, and tools used to deliver the management and operation of the New Zealand power and market systems.Support the Manager of Training and Learning.Ultimately this role will enable you to join a Category 1 Private Training Establishment and contribute to exciting change which will impact electricity sector training pathways for future generations. You'll be the right-hand person for the Training Manager and will provide operational support and development for our trainers and trainees.What will you bring?Drive, pace, and a passion for delivering facilitation and training excellence! You will be someone who likes being hands-on but who can see how to enable the Training and Learning Strategy operationally. Electricity sector experience isn't essential; however, your CV and cover letter will clearly demonstrate:Deep experience in training and learning methodologies and tools, with a strong focus on learner achievement.Training practitioner level experience in complex training technical environments. You ideally will have experience guiding less experienced trainers and supporting the varied needs of diverse adult learners.Proven ability to work with technical subject matter experts to extract information needed to design appropriate learning solutions.Strong planning skills and attention to detail.Experience in supporting and mentoring trainers and learners.Experience and an understanding of te ao Maori principles and their application in the workplace and/or education environment are highly desirable.Experience in managing academic risk and quality assurance processes.Knowledge of the electricity supply industry, SCADA applications, and New Zealand Power System.
