Mora Wines Ltd is an established family owned producer in Central Otago. Established in 1996 by Sir Clifford Skeggs under the Akarua brand, which was sold to Edmond de Rothschild Heritage in late 2022, the Mora brand was subsequently launched and has quickly established itself as a world class producer of cool climate wines. With 90 hectares of vineyards spread over six vineyards in the Bannockburn and Pisa subregions we are in the enviable position of having flexibility and diversity within our vineyard sites. Mora Wines Ltd also own the RUA brand which is a mainstay in both the domestic and international markets.We are seeking applications for the position of Viticultural Technician to join our small but dynamic team.Reporting to the Vineyard Manager, the successful candidate will be based in Cromwell and support the Vineyard Manager in pursuit of delivering outstanding quality fruit for our portfolio of wines.Key Responsibilities include:Monitoring of Vine Health to ensure commitment to quality is paramount.Crop/Yield Estimation – data capture and analysis.SSCO - supervision and pastoral care.H&S – build on continuous improvement of Health & Safety process and procedures.Maintain Vineyard assets including machinery, trellis and irrigation.Assist with Frost Fighting and Harvest logistics.The successful applicant will:Horticultural or Viticultural degree or diploma and/or demonstrated experience.Time management and planning skills.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.Passionate and keen to learn and develop.Ability to work flexible / additional hours to meet the seasonal requirements of the role.Our Offer:A competitive hourly rate.Business use of company vehicle.This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing and dynamic family owned wine business.
