Applications are invited from inspiring and innovative art practitioners with a thorough understanding of NCEA and NZQA practices to join our visual art faculty as TIC, junior art. This role will also extend into our Y11 program. We are looking for applicants who are competent in a variety of visual arts disciplines, including design and photography.
Collaboration on curriculum design, preparation of creative, dynamic lessons, and providing developmentally appropriate instruction on art techniques is desired.
Encourage independent creativity amongst your students, have a strong knowledge in art pedagogy. We need an outstanding art educator to help develop students' depth and breadth of artmaking skills, processes, and techniques.
Applicants are expected to participate in the extensive co-curricular life of the school.
Contract and remuneration will be in accordance with the Secondary Teachers' Collective Agreement as assessed by the Salary Assessment Unit of the Ministry of Education.
Entry requirements:
A specialist subject degree followed by a one-year Graduate Diploma of Teaching (Secondary) or a Master of Teaching (Secondary).
A Bachelor of Education (Technology).
A Bachelor of Teaching conjoint degree (a combination of teaching and specialist subjects).
