We're seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Vineyard Manager to lead our team and oversee the daily operations across 115 hectares of prime vineyards in Central Otago. This role is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic wine-growing region and contribute to producing some of New Zealand's finest wines.
About the Role
As Vineyard Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of vineyard management, overseeing vineyard development and redevelopment, day to day operations, equipment maintenance, overseeing the harvest and maintaining quality standards. You'll be working closely with the owners, vineyard team, winemaker, sales team and contract growers, ensuring our grapes are managed to the highest standards targeting different price points, capturing the distinctive terroir of Central Otago.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and execute vineyard management plans, including day to day tasks and strategic planning.
Lead and manage an experienced team, providing hands-on support and guidance.
Monitor vineyard health and growth, with a focus on sustainability and quality.
Collaborate with the winery, sales team and contract growers to meet production goals and quality specifications.
Manage budget and operational expenses.
Maintain compliance with Health and Safety and accreditation programs.
What we are looking for:
Experience: Minimum 5 years in vineyard management, with a proven ability to manage multiple sites, preferably within New Zealand.
Knowledge: Strong understanding of viticulture practices, with a passion for regenerative viticulture.
Leadership: Proven ability to lead a team and communicate effectively.
Adaptability: Able to respond to seasonal challenges.
Attention to Detail: A meticulous eye for quality and commitment to excellence.
