Village Coordinator
At Bupa Parklands Retirement Village located in Papanui, we have an exciting opportunity for a Village Coordinator to join our community. The village offers 34 comfortable and stylish one, two and three bedroom apartments, and a community centre.
About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager, the Village Coordinator is responsible for the smooth and efficient running of the day-to-day operations of the Retirement Village to achieve high levels of resident satisfaction.
Managing the enquiries and sales process and ensuring an easy transition into village life.
Supporting the resident's welfare and wellbeing while they are living in the village.
Providing ongoing social connections and managing the monthly activities programme.
Ensuring smooth day-to-day administration and operations of the village (including resident transport).
Continuing to maintain a high standard of presentation of the community areas and grounds.
Work with the General Manager to achieve sales, occupancy, and financial targets for the village.
Attend to residents' day-to-day maintenance needs and oversee refurbishment of apartments.
Hours of Work
This is a Permanent Part Time role, 26 hours per week, worked between Monday to Thursday with occasional weekend/evening work to help oversee open home viewings and quarterly evening events when agreed upon with the General Manager.

Empathy and Patience - Understanding the needs and emotions of older adults and being patient in dealing with their concerns or requests is crucial for maintaining a supportive and respectful environment.
Community Engagement - Experience in building relationships with residents, families, local organizations, and healthcare providers to enhance the sense of community and provide holistic support to residents.
Communication Skills - Effective communication is essential for conveying information to residents, staff, and stakeholders, as well as for listening to and addressing residents' concerns and preferences.
Administration and Operations - Proficiency in administrative tasks such as budgeting, scheduling, and overseeing day-to-day operations to ensure the smooth functioning of the retirement village.
Organization and Time Management - Managing various tasks such as scheduling activities, coordinating events, handling administrative duties, and overseeing staff requires strong organizational and time management skills, ideally in an age-related healthcare setting.
