Job summary Veterinarian role for New Zealand Food Safety Verification ServicesResponsible for food safety, animal welfare, and biosecurity verification and certificationExciting opportunity for problem-solving and effective communication Job seniority: mid-to-senior level Responsibilities • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders• Verify requirements and procedures being followed• Provide certification for animal meat exports• Complete ante mortem inspections and occasional post-mortem inspections• Maintain knowledge within farming communities and be involved in on farm verification• Ensure animal welfare is maintained Requirements • New Zealand registered Veterinarian or ability to obtain registration• Hold a full New Zealand driver's license or be able to obtain one• Verbal and written skills, analytical reasoning skills• Integrity, trust, ethics, resilience, adaptability, and openness• Experience in persuading, influencing, teamwork, planning, and organizing• Computer literacy with standard and custom software• Advantageous to have knowledge of HACCP/Quality Assurance in Food Safety• Not all role requirements are necessary to apply Benefits • Annual wellness payment and reduced premiums for health care schemes• Career development and internal opportunities• Professional membership reimbursement
