About the role:
Hours of Work: Monday - 16 hours per week, days negotiable, no on-call/after hours
We are seeking a fully qualified, experienced Veterinarian to join our Invercargill Centre team. Working closely with a veterinary nurse, you will provide high professional standards of veterinary care for animals presented to and under the care of SPCA. Together, you will run our veterinary clinic within the Invercargill Centre, so you will need to be comfortable working unsupervised, with collegial and professional support from our Head Vet at Christchurch when required.

What we need from you:
Our ideal candidate will have:
Minimum of 1 year's experience as a Qualified Veterinarian.
Confident with routine surgery and medicine; orthopaedic surgical experience would be desirable.
Excellent personal communication skills, including face-to-face, written, and video conferencing.
Strong time management, organisational and planning ability, and budget management.
Confidence and experience in handling a wide variety of animals (domestic, un-socialised, and wildlife).
Confidence and experience in making difficult decisions.
Experience in Shelter medicine is preferred, but not essential.
A sound understanding of, and empathy with, the goals and values of SPCA.
