Mona Vale Homestead is an iconic Christchurch Historic Homestead that operates as a successful event venue and busy daytime restaurant, situated within 5.5 hectares of manicured gardens overlooking the Avon River.About the Role - Mona Vale Venue ManagerFull-time position.A key member of the Company with the ability to run the Venue in your own style, reporting directly to the General Manager.Manage event sales and maintain key relationships and communication with clients.You will ensure each event is well-coordinated and high-quality standards are met in every regard.Have quick response times and clear communication with clients.Prepare quotes, part payments, and final invoices on time.Responsible for staff management and overseeing rosters.Responsible for ordering stock and equipment while maintaining suitable levels through busy and quiet periods.Position Description will be available from the interview stage.Competitive market salary.Given the nature of our business, you will be required to work weekends and evenings to oversee the expected level of service to our guests.There is a competent team in place, including a highly skilled Event Manager and Head Chef.About youStrong leadership skills.Knowledge and experience in events and the hospitality industry.The ability to multitask and make decisions to assist in the operation of the Homestead.Excellent communication, structure, and time management skills.Understanding and ability to use Word, Excel, Outlook, and Xero.Oversee and assist in planning marketing materials.Must have a friendly demeanor and outgoing personality to join and lead our team.A hands-on approach ensuring high team morale and environment.Duty Manager licence preferred; if not, training will be provided.About our EnvironmentOur Company, Cartwright Catering Group, is an established hospitality industry provider that operates from Mona Vale Homestead, while also managing the Christchurch Tram Catering Contract, Percival Street Bakery, and catering for external contracted events.If you believe you are the right person for this role, please apply today!You are welcome to contact us if you have any questions before applying.Your application will include the following questions:Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in New Zealand?How many years' experience do you have as a venue manager?Do you hold a current New Zealand General Manager's certificate?How many years of people management experience do you have?How many years of business management experience do you have?Do you have customer service experience?Do you have experience preparing work rosters?Have you worked in a role where you were responsible for stock control?
