As the next Venue Event Coordinator at McLean Park, you'll bring a passion for sport, combined with extensive experience in managing large-scale events. You are known for your exceptional execution skills and ability to deliver memorable experiences.
McLean Park is Hawkes Bays premium outdoor sporting stadium playing home to the Central District Stags and the Hawkes Bay Magpies. The Park regularly holds international fixtures, which includes the Black Caps, White Ferns and Super Rugby. The Park has events lined up for 2025 with Freestyle Kings in February followed by Black Caps in March… and so many more to come!

At McLean Park, sports and events are at the heart of what we do, making each day an exciting new adventure. From working together to deliver a flawless venue experience to celebrating the triumph of every event, we're always pushing the boundaries to make the next one even better—and we have a lot of fun along the way!
You can expect your time to be well utilised:

Identifying client's needs and how they will be best accommodated before or after the event
Liaise and co-ordinate with clients through the planning and organising of events including venue set-ups, technical, catering, ticketing, security, equipment requirements and delivering exceptional support throughout
Manage corporate box requirements per game/booking with service providers to deliver a VIP experience to owners
Maximise revenue opportunities for McLean Park and Centennial Events Centre by selling and promoting the event spaces to current and potential clients for conferences, meetings and corporate/private functions and sporting events

If you have the following skills, then let's chat!

Sport/Event Management Diploma/Degree or similar qualification
Previous experience in all aspects of large-scale event planning, including office administration and customer service
Proven experience in the conference and event industry
Ability to work a roster, any one of seven days which include early mornings and late nights depending on the event
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail and ability to meet tight deadlines and work under pressure
Friendly and approachable with high standard of personal presentation
