Then this job is for you. We invite you to apply for this full-time position of Vascular Laboratory Technician in the Otago Vascular Diagnostics Assessment Unit within the Section of Surgery.
About our team/Mo te tima
We are a team of vascular surgeons, technologists and research staff using various diagnostic investigations to research the causes and management of vascular conditions.
Our unit provides clinical diagnostic services to the Southern District Health Board, and to the wider community, to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of vascular diseases.
The unit is also part of the Vascular Research Group and works closely with other research groups at local, national and international levels.
The role/Te mahi
In this role you will join a multidisciplinary focused clinical research team investigating vascular disease.
This position involves working within a fun team of vascular technicians and sonographers in assessing patients with vascular disease, using physiological techniques and ultrasound. Assessments are carried out for the purpose of both clinical patient care and research. The successful applicant would learn the specific techniques and assist in the general tasks of the Assessment Unit.
Skills and experience/Ka pukeka me ka wheako
Depending on the qualification of the successful candidate, there may be an opportunity to study towards a Vascular Ultrasound qualification and/or a research qualification.
You will also have:
Good organisational skills.
A professional approach and ability to relate well when dealing with the public.
High standards of both oral and written communication skills.

This position is permanent, full time (37.5 hours per week) based in Dunedin and commencing as soon as possible. Part-time hours may also be considered.
The appointment range for this role is $59,285 to $63,651. The top of the range is $68,744 per annum.
