Job Description
Our Hamilton team is looking for an experienced Valve Technician to carry out work associated with the assessment, repair, modification, checking, testing, and certifying of industrial valves in accordance with SGS-IVE Quality Management System (QMS) and its procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Carry out valve refurbishments & overhauls or related work as requested in line with the QMS, customer requirements and given priorities.
Repair and test various valves, including but not limited to ball valves, gate valves, butterfly valves, safety relief valves, etc.
Undertake valve examinations, maintenance, and repair without error, working within agreed time frames.
Perform disassembly, cleaning, inspection, measuring, reassembly and testing of valves.
Follow all schematics and documented procedures in accordance with all Quality Control and ASME National Board standards that apply to the job.
Thoroughly complete all calibration and documentation associated with testing and repairs.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a qualified trade in mechanical engineering or fitter and turner with a minimum of three years industry experience.
At least 2 years valve specific experience.
Must have thorough understanding of API526/527 and other applicable industry standards.
Have knowledge of valve maintenance including block, ball, gate, control and relief valves to a high standard.
Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools required for the repair of valves.
Mechanical knowledge of how to clean and maintain machinery used to overhaul and service valves and parts.
Full knowledge and understanding of measurements in relation to orifices.
Ideally 5 years' experience in a petrochemical industry.
Full knowledge of gasket assembly, bolting and compression.
A current and clean driver's license.

This is a full-time position, working 40 hours per week.
